Dry-brushing is very popular on social networks. In this short article we explain its benefits and how to optimize this body ritual.
Dry-brushing is an effective physical exfoliator, which means that it manually removes dead skin cells from the top layer of the skin, improves appearance and makes subsequent topical treatments more effective.
Lymphatic drainage and circulation are the most commonly cited benefits of the ritual. Your lymphatic system works alongside your circulatory system and removes waste from the body, which is why you might hear people say that dry brushing is "detoxifying". It's up for debate whether you really need to manually stimulate circulation or if simply moving your body is enough. Either way, studies show that better circulation is better for your skin in general, no matter how you do it.
How do you do it?
1- Naked, before you get in the shower. We prepare our favorite items too.
2- Brush upwards, starting with the feet and moving to the upper areas of the body. Use short strokes with medium pressure, without irritating the skin. Make sure to always brush towards the heart. Pay special attention to the torso and neck.
3- Wash with a mild soap in the shower to remove dead skin cells.
4- Finish by drying the skin and applying your favorite body serum. The benefits of the serum will be quickly absorbed.
Finally, like all self-care and beauty commitments, results come with consistency.
