4 things I've learned from my personal massagers

The sex toy industry is growing faster than most of us can make room in our bedside tables. And yes, vibrators have officially become an indispensable tool for well-being and self-care.

Here are five things I've learned about my well-being with the help of my loyal vibrating friends:

1. No need to take a melatonin capsule every night to fall asleep - an orgasm will do the same. By lowering my level of cortisol (the stress hormone) and releasing both prolactin and oxytocin, my body becomes completely exhilarated and relaxed. So the combination of hormonal changes can help me stay asleep longer!

2. Give me five minutes with my masseurs and I can relieve menstrual cramps faster than a magician can pull a rabbit out of a hat. The combination of pelvic floor contractions and the endorphins released during orgasm helps kick the cramps least for a little while. The same goes for headaches.

3. I am a strong, free and independent woman who does not need a man. Yes, OK - we already knew that! But in all sincerity: I have got to know my body and please myself like no one has done before. I know my body like Mozart knew his piano; all the right notes, and at all the right times. This ensures that I control my satisfaction in any situation and position.

4. The biggest lesson that my masseur (OK - my masseurs) has brought into my life is how to learn how to quit. How to finally let go. The laundry that needs to be folded, everything that needs to be cleaned, my to-do list, the emails I have to respond to and the deadlines I have to meet have no place in my head when I only have a few minutes free time to indulge myself in the shower. If I can only set aside ten minutes to close my eyes and enjoy myself, I can guarantee you that I have learned to silence the outside world like a champion.

All this being said, with more and more practice, you will learn how to eliminate chaos in your real life. Its little moments of sweetness keep you sane, calm and above all, focused on the present moment.

Learning how to be here, right now, with a smile of satisfaction at all times...that's the most beautiful lesson.
